GlassyCem
Radiopaque glass ionomer restorative cement for kids
GIC include:
- powder / liquid
- conditioner (produced separately)
- varnish (produced separately)
When the powder is mixed with a liquid, it forms a cement with high biocompatibility with the hard tissues, sufficient strength (170 MPa) and acid resistance (< 0.002 mm/h). Polyacrylic acid binds to dentin calcium and provides chemical adhesion and marginal adhesion of the cement to the hard tissues.
Fluorine-containing glass filler accumulates and releases fluorine ions, thus providing a prolonged anti-caries effect.
INDICATIONS
- Bright colours are used to visualize the boundaries between the temporary filling and tooth tissues, and to visualize the orifices during the treatment of the root canal
- Filling of primary teeth
- Filling and restoration of hard tooth tissues (I, II, III and V class cavities according to Black’s classification)
- Sealing of fissures, small defects caused by noncarious damage of hard tooth tissues
- Lining for composite restoration
- ART-technique filling
- Temporary filling
ADVANTAGES
- Fast curing properties are ideal for the treatment of very active children
- High chemical resistance to acid erosion — 0.002 mm/h (the limit established by ISO 9917-1 is ≤ 0.05 mm/h)
- High radiopacity
- High viscosity
- Biological compatibility with hard dental tissues
- High adhesion to enamel and dentin
- Tight adhesion to marginal areas of hard tooth tissues
- Maximum strength and durability
- Anti-caries effect due to the slow fluoride release
- Bright colours
